Pearce Scores 135 for Tasmania at National High Performance Under 19 Championship
Nick Pearce has put his name in front of national selectors with a classy 135 against the ACT at Manuka Oval in Canberra.Pearce batted for 313 minutes and faced 224 deliveries and his score included 21 fours and one six that brought up his 50. His century guided Tasmania to a win. ACT batted first in the two day game closing at 8 wickets for 335 runs. Tasmania scored 6 for 341. Tasmania has one more two day game against South Australia starting on the 9th December.Click Here to read more
Up and coming Sisters Creek local Nick Pearce has been selected in the Tasmanian under 19 team that is participating at the national championships in Canberra. The championship is between 29th November and 9th December 2009. Pearce, a powerfull left hand batsman has been selected as an opening batsmen for the team. New Nets Frame in Place
Danmore Engineering has completed the installation of the frame work for the new nets. Next phase is the installation of the black chain mesh which is scheduled for the end of November when the fencing contractor is available.
Slab Poured for New Nets!

This is an exciting move forward in the construction process of the new nets!
Net Construction Starts
2nd October 2008 New Net construction has commenced. The slab construction is being carried out by Mathew Dixon and his team. Escavation of the ite is complete. Form work and fill is the major excercise for today with target to pour the concrete slab on Monday 6th October. All members are encouraged to come along and assist with the process.The new nets consist of 3 practice wickets in 40m x 14 m secured enclosed area. The project includes provision for retractable soft netting and rubberised antishock Bowling landing pads.
Coaching Appointments confirmed
The Committee of management is pleased to announce that Andrew House has been appointed senior coach and will be assisted by Matthew Allen.
Department of Economic Development- Sport & Rec. Minor Grants Program
The Wynyard Cricket Club are pleased to advised that the Department of Economic Development has made a grant to the club under the Sport & Recreation Minor grants program toward the purchase of a new reel mower to prepare the centre square. The grant is very timely as the old unit is now beyond repair.
New Nets
5th September 2008 Nets update The net sub committee has been busy putting into place fund raising for the nets and gaining authority approval to proceed. Steel work has been ordered and the new slab is scheduled to be poured at the end of September pending final council builiing permit approval.
New Nets Design Complete The Committee of Management are pleased to announce that the new practice net design is complete and has recievedapproval from theWynyard A&P Society to proceed.The project steps moving forward are:
1. Remove Existing Net frame work (Completed May 2008
2. Relocate existing electrical services box.
3. Remove Jackson Street Boundry Fence
4. Clear and level new site.
5. Construct concrete formwork & install steel work bases
6. Pour Slab
7. Construct and install steel framework
8. Clad frame in black pvc chain mesh.
9. Pour bowler anti-shock rubber square
10. Install pitch carpet
11. Install ex bowls club matting on balance of slab
12. Install Gabba retractable netting.
